BENZIE COUNTY — Taking steps to avoid the spread of COVID-19 the Marijuana Regulatory Agency is temporarily allowing curbside pickup at marijuana businesses.
Under the temporary accommodations, all customers, regardless of the address on their government-issued ID, are eligible to receive home delivery. The MRA is recommending delivery as the safest method of getting product.
Lume Cannabis Compnay, a vertically integrated cannabis company, announced it will offer a 10 percent discount to all customers who place orders for delivery or place online pre-orders for express checkout or curbside pick-up at any of its locations.
Lume is closed to in-store transactions.
“As a company we are taking several specific and proactive steps to minimize exposure while still providing the top-notch level of customer service our patients and customers expect and deserve,” said Doug Hellyar, president and COO of Lume. “We hope offering a 10 percent discount for delivery and for customers who place online pre-orders for express checkout or curbside pick-up will help our medical patients and recreational consumers continue to access Lume products during this challenging time.”
Curbside pick-up orders will be required to pay cash. The promotion is one of many steps Lume is taking to protect the health and safety of its staff, patients and customers during the developing COVID-19 situation.

Great Lakes Natural Remedies is going to be doing curbside pickup only at its location in Benzonia, according to Sara Foss, chief sales and marketing officer for GLNR.
“We don’t want product exposed to potential virus,” Foss said. This goes for both medical and recreational. We’ll have safe curbside pickups.”
Foss said GLNR products could be ordered on weedmaps.com.
“People can let us know when they are outside and we’ll do the transaction in the parking lot,” she said. “We just want to keep everybody and the product safe.”
Foss said veterans still get a 10 percent discount, and other promotions will be coming in April.
